Scholarship Open Call ICPS: Indigenous Children Support Initiative
Indigenous Greeting! FFIG is implementing a scholarship program to support two Indigenous girl students who have been facing significant challenges
This two-day certificated program focused on strengthening the knowledge and leadership of Young Indigenous Women and Girls (IWG) by building awareness, capacity, and advocacy skills to address challenges faced by Indigenous communities in Nepal. Participants explored Indigenous histories and identities, unpacked systemic and patriarchal barriers, and engaged with key legal frameworks such as the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and Indigenous and Tribal Peoples Convention, 1989 (ILO 169).
The program also highlighted stories from frontline leaders resisting land displacement in Bhojeni-Lapsiphedi and created space for youth to reflect on national and international rights mechanisms, strengthening their confidence to advocate for the protection of Indigenous Peoples’ land rights.
