Scholarship Open Call ICPS: Indigenous Children Support Initiative
Indigenous Greeting! FFIG is implementing a scholarship program to support two Indigenous girl students who have been facing significant challenges
The Indigenous Media Fellowship, organized by Focus for Indigenous Girls (FIG), highlighted ongoing land violations affecting the Tamang Indigenous communities, women, girls, and local communities in Bojheni, Shankharapur Lapsiphedi, Kathmandu. It engaged young journalists and media professionals to amplify stories of Indigenous women and girls’ resilience, raise awareness about forced relocations, and shape narratives around land and identity.
Over five months, fellows Sharana Sherpa and Babita Tamang revisited Bojheni, capturing the emotions, struggles, and actions of the Tamang People through writing, photography, and video, honoring their stories and giving an ode to Indigenous communities globally. The fellowship was FIG’s way of staying committed to preserving Indigenous stories.
