Scholarship Open Call ICPS: Indigenous Children Support Initiative
Indigenous Greeting! FFIG is implementing a scholarship program to support two Indigenous girl students who have been facing significant challenges
The Reading Circle: Jambure Ghang was a participatory gathering space where we came together to read, pause, and reflect collectively. Centered on the story of a Maam (grandmother in the Tamang language) defending her land in Bojheni amid land grabs, police intimidation, and the threat of displacement caused by a hydropower transmission line, the circle explored the intersections of land, women, and Indigenous resistance.
We organized this as part of PhotoKTM6, where participants were invited to engage with the feature story, critically reflect on colonial narratives of “development,” and honor the everyday courage of Indigenous women who protect their land, memory, and home.
Written by Babita Tamang through her Indigenous Media Fellowship 2025 at FIG and first released during FIG’s 2025 exhibition “Yul-sa, Saprala Hyang,” Jambure Ghang became a catalyst for dialogue, solidarity, and deeper understanding of Indigenous struggles and resilience.
